Below are honest reviews of Prisoner of Hope Captured by Grace. Some from friends, some from family, and some from those of you I don’t know personally. I ask that if you have read my book that you would take a few minutes of your time to leave me a review on Amazon! I would appreciate it very much. Thank you!

Mona Tuma is an honest saint of God who is unashamedly transparent. She also knows Patty and Percy intimately (Patty, a.k.a Patience, and Percy, a.k.a Perseverance). Her life has been anything but easy which you will see as you read her book. I've known people who have have had just a couple of her life experiences and they have become hard, bitter, and angry at God. Yet every time Mona's been knocked down, Patience and Perseverance, her faithful companions, have picked her up and helped her move forward. This book is full of practical and often, unbelievable, examples of hope, trust and faith. If you are in need of any of these character traits, this is the book for you. Mona's story will continue to inspire you long after you read the final page. Prisoner of Hope also reveals an incredible, and wonderful example of a good man standing beside his wife, filled with unconditional love and his own relationship with Patty and Percy.

Mona,
I've never met you, but I learned a some about you through conversations with Jerry. I'm one of his clients. In my opinion, your book is an amazingaccomplishment that chronicles a redemptive and impactful life. I started reading it and had a hard time putting it down. My mother was widowed at 30 in 1963 and raised six children on her own in El Paso Texas. As the oldest at 12 when my father died, I witnessed how hard it was for a single woman on her own with children. I could relate to some of the obstacles you had to overcome. In my view, you accomplished the goals listed in the introduction to your book and I believe it will help others. It helped me realize some things that I need to heal. Your health and family struggles and especially with your faith are distinctly human and I believe will also help others make peace with God and receive redemption and healing. Jerry, thank you for sharing snippets about yours and Mona's life. Her book brought it all together. You are both amazing people. My prayer is that God will continue to bless you abundantly.

This is a heroic and insightful book with a deeply profound message. Mona courageously shares how painful the human experience can be. With complete honesty she chronicles her pain and suffering, never using Christian platitudes or pulling any punches. The book is sometimes raw and always transformative. In a world of easy believism and prosperity gospel, Mona Tuma's authentic Christianity was forged in the furnace of adversity and is a majestic portrait of the grace of God. A life changing read.

There are books and then there are books. Mona Tuma is a person who is authentic, gritty, and gutsy. She is someone who never gives up and is as realistic as she is faith-filled and hope infused. This book lays out clearly what it takes to break through and ultimately overcome crushing, brutal, and overwhelming disappointments. Mona is just one one of those incredible overcomers who shows us what it looks like to face the most severe challenges in life. The way she faces adversity is a constant reminder to me that I can do it too! This is a great read. I love this woman and who she is!

I just finished your Beautiful Book, Prisoner of Hope Captured by Grace.
It was gut wrenching yet courageous.
It was soul searching yet discovery was everywhere.
It was full of pain yet relief.
It was frustrating yet satisfying.
It was full of moments of loss yet in the end all I could feel was Joy. Joy because I could relate to knowing God through painful trials.
This truly reminds me of Elizabeth Elliott’s writing. She understood the purpose of long suffering. And you, Ramona, have captured the Modern Day version of the tides of life. You have survived and your words prove your sanctification. As Hannah would say, God is Good. He is Indeed!!
Thank you for my copy!! I will be sure to review on Amazon in March after it’s release.
Love you Dearly!!
I have known Ramona Tuma for over ten years. She is both generous and genuine!
“Prisoner of Hope Captured by Grace” will change you! “Never stop praying. Never stop believing. Always choose joy.” So many life lessons packed in her thrilling, motivating, life-changing book. A love story!
She shares the good, the bad, and the ugly. It gets so rough. Yet, it’s also a book about redemption! Sacrifice! Love!
Despite her devastating circumstances, her sense of humor is so evident in this book. She will have you rolling on the floor with laughter. And then, in the next chapter, weeping. It’s a book I had to force myself to put down and pace myself reading! I would have stayed up all night reading it!
And, in the end, this book truly must be a movie. It simply must! It’s filled with generational life-lessons. Lessons her parents and grandparents taught her. It helps bring generations together and understand each other more. She describes what life was like for her and also her own mother. In the 1970s, even having a charge card required a male co-signer in her state! What a different world we live in. I was shocked reading some of her admissions. Stealing—the only time she did in her life. She was forced to. It was a can of tuna to keep her children fed while living in a shelter for abused women and children.
Her children kidnapped. She was so bold, so courageous, so brave to never stop fighting for her kids and praying she would one day see them again-ALIVE. Ultimate physical suffering so bad that she begged God to let her die. And then, she shares her love story that stands the test of time. Her faithful husband who is still by her side! Someone in the book described Ramona as “Bulletproof.” If you didn’t know her and see the documents proving of her accounts, there’s no way you’d believe what’s in her book. There is just so much in there! Even one of her life crisises would be too much for most people! And yet, she has suffered through so many. Yet she stands! She testifies about the Power of the Lord.
I loved the Scriptures quoted throughout her book! Her passion for the Word of God is evident. She spent days studying the Bible, and has been around the world sharing the Gospel. I worked with Ramona in my D.C. days, inside the Capitol. She was always so kind and generous to me! We kept in touch and she continued to be a support to my family and me as we faced life challenges. (Most recently our baby was born with half of a heart---a true heart warrior! During our most recent hospital stays in a foreign city and unfamiliar hospital, she reached out to me. She let me know how much she and her prayer teams were praying. She shared her desire to get her book out there. And she asked me my address to send us her book!) Back in D.C., I knew she had a story, but I had no clue what she endured.
Now her story is out! Hot off the presses. 😊 Her beautiful family are some of the good fruit that have come from her faithfulness to the Lord.
“Prisoner of Hope Captured by Grace”, the aesthetics of the book are beautiful! I work from home and take care of my husband and my two small kids! It’s been a plus that this book is so solid. We have plenty of spills and mishaps at this table, which also serves as my work desk as I work from home. I LOVE the design on the front, and I LOVE the colors! It’s taken me a few days to complete the book and this review. And I haven’t minded one bit that it’s been sitting on my dining room table this long! Now, it has a couple of ink marks from my baby who was also interested in her book. 😊
Of any book I’ve read, this is one that will not only change your perspective, it will change your life! We LOVE Ramona. We LOVE her book! Read it today!
Psalm 78:5-8 is shared at the beginning of chapter 23.
He established a testimony in Jacob
and appointed a law in Israel,
which he commanded our fathers
to teach to their children,
6 that the next generation might know them,
the children yet unborn,
and arise and tell them to their children,
7 so that they should set their hope in God
and not forget the works of God,
but keep his commandments;
8 and that they should not be like their fathers,
a stubborn and rebellious generation,
a generation whose heart was not steadfast,
whose spirit was not faithful to God.
