Ramona Tuma is an inspirational author and motivational speaker who guides the reader in how to walk through life's transitions.
We are all walking through that key hole. Every day we are getting closer to the other side, and even though the valleys may be filled with adversity, you hold the key to walk through it.
No challenge or hurdle is wasted, and every tear waters that beautiful garden of your life.
This extraordinary book begins with this question: What do you do with the memories of the adversities you have faced in life? It then proceeds to answer in a deeply honest reply: Do you give up or rise up? Then there are the poignant words that sum up the theme of this profoundly touching book, "Redemption from suffering is real, and without belief we lose all hope." The title of this book strikes a deep cord in most of us; yet few have known pain and loss like Ramona Tuma. Her friends call her Mona, and I am honored to be counted among them. Just the fact that she wrote this book is a major miracle. (Anyone who ever writes a book considers it a major miracle, especially the first one!). However, Prisoner of Hope was written after Mona had a major stroke that left her unable to walk, and one hand that had become claw-like. As I read the pages, I marveled at the sheer tenacity and endurance it took to tell her story and see it go to print. I have repented numerous times for ever whining about anything while reading it! Mona should have and could have died numerous times-~-repeatedly from sheer heartbreak, not counting the cancer, and numerous other physical, life-threatening challenges. However, I do not want you to think this is a depressing book. Mona has the most marvelous sense of humor and it shines like a beacon in page after page. She does give honor to whom honor is due by giving her husband and knight in shining armor, Jerry, his due. Jerry has stood with her through thick and thin. They really enjoy each other and have laughed and cried with each other through times when they have both faced deep valleys.
Most people would have lost their faith in God through her multiple dark nights of the soul. Not Mona. Question God? Yes! Heart-wrenching questions. Each time, though, like Job, she has found redemption. For there is hope for a tree, If it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And that its tender shoots will not cease. Though its root may grow old in the earth, And its stump may die in the ground, Yet at the scent of water it will bud And bring forth branches like a plant.
-JOB 14:7-9 NEW KING JAMES VERSION
I love that Bible verse. At times we all go through grief, loss, and disappointments to where we feel like we will never hope again. If that is you, drink deeply of this real, raw, touching book. It will be like the scent
of water to your soul and you will get the courage to live again.

The life story of Mona Tuma in Prisoner of Hope, Captured by Grace will make you cry and wonder how she had the perseverance to go on as she experienced horrible desperation. In one instance, it was a phone call. In another, it was Jerry, her future husband. Along the way she shares so many vital life lessons she learned from a threat on her life to facing major health challenges of pain, sickness, and loneliness. This book will challenge you and encourage you to live life to the fullest and depend on God's grace in your life.

Prisoner of Hope, Captured by Grace is a captivating tale of harrowing escapes from death, villains, Prince Charming, and a good, powerful, and faithful God. After hearing the God-stories in this book, I told Mona that if she didn't write it, it would be a sin. I'm not saying it's a sin not to read it, but it might be.

Mona,
Thanks for sending me your finished book. It's a great book and should be of critical help and great encouragement to many people. I quoted from page 104 of the book in my adult Sunday School class. I pray that the Lord will use it to extend and strengthen the church and His kingdom

Sometimes people are taken into places they would never go. A place of crushing that they never expected. They only feel their weakness , not realising that others are reading them as the living epistle that they really are, and those reading them, marvel at their strength.
Dedicated to a sister in the Lord.
During this time I had many people pray me through the writing of this book. Without them, the book would not exist. There are literally hundreds and hundreds of texts to special people at all hours of the nights. I chose two examples of what I sent these prayer warriors during the writing and editing of this book .
Please pray Karla's schedule allows her to finish. Of course their car breaks down and so much more. Last night I was sitting on the porch reviewing the last year. One of the hardest ever. And yet filled with miracles and so much sadness. One of the greatest miracles, as I stop and ruminate is how this was written. At the right time, even this morning, a memory or watching a YouTube interview, those moments of awareness that if I stayed alert, became a puzzle piece. Even more, I thank the lord, but how I thank my poor racked body. My elbow and left hand, the left thumb held up until this morning. Who writes a book by hand, then with that same hand type it out on a cell phone, in order for Karla to figure out what I wanted to say, and type it up herself? God and I that's who! After being told 96 percent of those with my kind of stroke just go to bed, I'm thankful to God! But for this moment, I am proud of me, proud of us. Wow!
Today I will spend with my new dear friend, my editor, Martha Gail! My name is Ramona gail, then Hannah and Alaina Gail. Martha Gail and I will work way into the morning hours at times. At every turn, God has been faithful. This as year has been an emotionally very painful year, as I have written, being as transparent and honest as I could. I refused to go to the next section until I could see Gods faithfulness. Oh my dear friends at every turn, every mountain every desert, God has been faithful. Thank you for holding my arms up, And singing with me, great is thy faithfulness. I have been a prisoner of hope my whole life Captured by grace in my 20's. And now Psalms 69 verse 33 in the Passion translation as I turn 69,
I am FOREVER a prisoner of His love.
Yesterday, while doing pictures for the layout I had to put them in order and send them to Gail. I was ready to cry. And the person who was helping me, I felt was pushing me. Then I had such a revelation. Doing this was all linear thinking. I asked him to print the pictures, he said why can't you just do it on the computer screen. I blew up and said I don't know why! I have to say it was horrible. Then we put all the pictures on the table and I could not put them into sequence. It was like I was back in rehab color coordinating blocks and putting them in order for hours and hours.
So I just walked off and went in my office and cried, God why is this so hard!
Then He reminded me, I shouldn't be able to do it at all. But I did. I got home around 3, and literally stumbled into bed and woke up about 2:20 this morning.
Every step of this, EVERY step is a miracle, such a miracle.
